I was born in Perth, Western Australia and have painted ever since I can remember, encouraged by my Grandmother and later pursuing formal Art Studies at Perth Technical College and Carine Technical College, WA.
I have experimented with several different mediums, including oil, acrylic, water colour, clay and pastel. I am fortunate to be able to paint full time and also run Pastel and Acrylic Workshops where I can share my artistic journey with other keen artists.
Discovering pastels was a huge turning point in my artistic development. I love the tactile application and spontaneity achieved, along with an unlimited choice of colour and texture range pastels provide.
The subject matter has varied over the years, however I still like to introduce characters into my scenes to tell the story. My paintings are a direct response to the landscape – inviting the viewer to be transported into it. To capture the mood, I like to work with early morning or late afternoon light, creating extended shadows.
I am an active member of the Pastel Society of W.A., and the West Australian Society of Arts, exhibiting regularly. My paintings have been exhibited, won awards and sold throughout Western Australian for many years.
Painting is my passion!
